The RM of Mayfield Volunteer Fire Department has proudly served this community for decades…. answering calls day and night.  But now we’re at a turning point.  Without more volunteers, our fire department may be forced to shut down.

​

We need new members:

• Whether you're experienced or brand new, we’ll train you;

• Men and women, ages 18+, are welcome to join; and

• There are roles for everyone — from active firefighting to support and logistics.

Please join us on July 3rd for a public meeting to discuss the future of our fire department and explore options for fire protection services if it’s determined the department must close. 

This is your community.  Your voice matters.

Sometimes you will need to burn grass, brush piles or stubble.  Please be sure you are well prepared and that you have fire guards in place.  These "controlled burns" must be reported to avoid dispatching firefighters unnecessarily.

Best Practices for Open Burning

There is currently no Fire Ban in the RM of Mayfield.​

Stay informed about when and where you are allowed to burn in the province with the Fire Ban Map.

All ratepayers are strongly encouraged to have appropriate firefighting insurance.  Contact your local broker for more information.
